We’re incredibly proud to celebrate one of our outstanding students, Leo, whose musical journey has been nothing short of inspiring. In less than three years since he began taking cello lessons in Mississauga at our school, Leo has grown into a passionate and talented young cellist.

With a deep love for music, a strong work ethic, and an inquisitive spirit, Leo was recently selected to compete with the Ontario Strings Youth Orchestra (OSYO) at the prestigious New York International Music Festival this past April. Under the expert guidance of his dedicated cello teacher, Sasha, and with the unwavering support of his parents, Leo and his team triumphed—beating out seven other youth orchestras from across the U.S. and Europe to bring home the gold medal for Canada.

From walking through our doors as a curious young beginner to performing on an international stage, Leo’s progress is a testament to what’s possible through great teaching, family support, and hard work.

Congratulations, Leo, Sasha, and the entire family! You make the Mississauga School of Music community proud.
